We Care Red Ribbon Gala

Today is the eve of World Aids Day, and is the annual We Care Red Ribbon Gala. The Gala will be held at the Museum of Vancouver and will have a Silent Auction of artwork donated by local artists.

AIDS Vancouver provides amazing services to the community, working to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and to support those living with the disease. All funds raised from this event go straight to helping those in need.

This is one of the paintings that will be auctioned off at the event. It is called Looking Back 12x36 acrylic on canvas by Linzy Arnott. I hope the event is a huge success!!

Paint for Peace

Last night I got to paint at the Paint for Peace event in New Westminster. It was a lot of fun! There was a great turn out and a lot of very talented artists! It was a great event to raise money to build an orphanage in Cape Town, South Africa in 2011. After the artists painted live for a few hours the artwork was auctioned off.

I have always wanted to paint elephants so I thought this would be a great excuse to finally do it :) My piece was black and white with a herd of elephants. Here is the final piece. It measures 24x48"

Here are some pictures of the painting in progress. The one directly below is as far as I got, and then finished the painting at the event in front of a live audience. I was a bit nervous about panting in front of people but everyone was so nice and friendly, and there to support a great cause. I had a great time!

My New Studio

Im am SOOO EXCITED to have my brand new studio!! Already I am having a hard time spending time anywhere else :) I still have a few things I am going to ad: an "idea board" with my millions of ideas and inspiring pictures. But so far I really just cant stop painting in here :) It is SOO awesome being able to create art with no worry of making an unremovable mess on the carpet. WOW! No more prepping the floor with huge plastic sheets and paper towel!!!! And no more hands and knees scrubbing trying to remove "accidents" out of the carpet. I LOVE IT!!!!

A HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you to my AMAZING husband and my AWESOME mother in law for all their work ripping out the carpet and underlay in the room so I can make a beautiful mess on the cement floor :D I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!
