Last night I got to paint at the Paint for Peace event in New Westminster. It was a lot of fun! There was a great turn out and a lot of very talented artists! It was a great event to raise money to build an orphanage in Cape Town, South Africa in 2011. After the artists painted live for a few hours the artwork was auctioned off.
I have always wanted to paint elephants so I thought this would be a great excuse to finally do it :) My piece was black and white with a herd of elephants. Here is the final piece. It measures 24x48"
Here are some pictures of the painting in progress. The one directly below is as far as I got, and then finished the painting at the event in front of a live audience. I was a bit nervous about panting in front of people but everyone was so nice and friendly, and there to support a great cause. I had a great time!

To all the Artists
ReplyDeleteA HUGE thank you for participating in this event and most of all enduring the cold! This event could not of been successful without your guys talent. We raised about $6500, every penny will go towards the Peace and Love Growth Center in Cape Town. I have spoke with Yashar the lead man in Cape Town and he is over the moon with what we pulled together in his absence. This event is becoming an annual thing so I hope to be in touch with all of you for next years! Once again on behalf of Peace and Love International, thank you!
Peace and Love
